SUBJECT The document relates to a plot of land of 1533 square yards with a dwellinghouse on it in the township of Sale, Parish of Ashton upon Mersey, Cheshire. We are told that William Ward acquired this plot in 1857 and mortgaged it to Agnes Robb for £50 in 1859. He died in 1859 having appointed John Arnold, Ann Yeardley and his daughter, Julia Boswell Ward, as his executors. John Arnold and Ann Yeardley have now sold the property by auction to Thomas Johnson for £210, of which, £50 is paid direct to Agnes Robb to clear the mortgage.
