Joseph HAMPSON of Kirkhall Lane, Leigh. Operative Cotton Spinner. SUBJECT We are told that William BOYDELL was granted a 999 year lease on property in Leigh, Lancashire, in 1900. It was a plot of land of 1035 square yards fronting on Hope Street to the West and bounded by Reeves Street to the North. Vincent Smith now holds a mortgage on the property. The plot appears to have been developed as a terrace of about 7 houses now being let to Joseph Hampson at a rent of £2 per annum. This underlease is for a term of 990 years.
