SUBJECT
George Saunders is selling property in Bournemouth, Hampshire to George Bevan for £145/16/8d. It is a plot of 20ft x 76ft on the North East side of Churchill Road, Boscombe, Bournemouth. There is a house "now roofed in and in the course of completion erected thereon by the said George Bevan" to be known as "South View". George Bevan covenants to complete the house "fit for occupation by a tenant".

The area is known as the Towers Estate and George Saunders undertakes to keep a central square on the other side of Churchill Road, then called Gower Gardens, as an open space. We are told that George Saunders bought this and other properties in 1876.

The document is labelled "Duplicate conveyance" on the cover and stamped as a duplicate, but the centre has been cut out of the stamps. This would invalidate it as a legal document, so possibly the contract never actually took place. It is signed and sealed by George Bevan.
