Charles William HOLE of Bideford, Devon. Solicitor. Charles CARTER of Welcombe, Devon. Esquire. SUBJECT The document is an abstract of title of Charles William Hole, acting as the surviving trustee of Charles Carter, to a farm called Kellys Brown or Browns Barton in the Parish of Langtree, Devon. It begins by reciting the Will of Charles Carter in which he gives the Manor of Upcott in the Parish of Welcombe to his son, Charles Hole, for his life, and then to his grandson, Henry Tubal Hole. There is also an annuity to his daughter, Elizabeth Catherine, the wife of Thomas Berry Torr. Another grandson is Charles William Hole, who is the surviving trustee. There is mention of a nephew Richard Carter. NB The document does not specifically state that CW Hole is "of Bideford Devon". I have obtained this from the 1881 Census as a likely guess to enable him to be included in our index. The cover of the document says that it was prepared by the firm of Hole & Peard, Solicitors of Bideford. | ||||||||||||
