PARTIES
Edward FIELD of Hunsdon, Hertfordshire. Surgeon. Peter SIDEBOTHAM of Great Portland Street, Parish of St Mary le Bone, Middlesex. Ironmonger. Thomas DICAS of Chester, Cheshire, Gentleman, and Mary his wife (formerly Mary LEACROFT) Thomas HUXLEY of Middle Temple, London, Gentleman. John DICAS of Stockport, Cheshire. Gentleman. Samuel LEACROFT (deceased) of the Parish of St John the Evangelist, Westminster, Middlesex. Gentleman. SUBJECT We are told that Edward Field and Peter Sidebotham are Trustees of the Will of Samuel Leacroft. He left property to them in trust for his daughter Mary who is now the wife of Thomas Dicas. There seems to have been some difficulty, and in 1797 Mary Dicas petitioned the High Court of Chancery to restrain the original 2 Trustees from disposing of any of her property. The end result is that the property is now being transferred to 2 new Trustees, Thomas Huxley and John Dicas, where it will still be to the benefit of Mary Dicas. The property consists of (I) a messuage, farm and lands called Willascroft near Stone, Staffordshire and (ii) a messuage and shop in Holborn, Middlesex. | |||||||||||
