PARTIES
Mary Cullmer HUNT of Ramsgate, Isle of Thanet, Kent. Widow Joseph GALLARD of the parish of Norton, Northamptonshire. Farmer Lydia Ann GALLARD (formerly Ann HURST, now the wife of Joseph Gallard) Lawrence ELGAR of Ramsgate, Kent. Brasier Edward MILES of Ramsgate, Kent. Yeoman SUBJECT The document relates to property at No.7 Elgar Place, parish of St. Lawrence, Isle of Thanet, Kent which has been bought at public auction by Lawrence Elgar for £175. We are told that, in 1843, this property had been mortgaged to Joel HURST for £400. Joel Hurst had died in 1845 with his estate passing to his daughters Mary and Lydia Hurst. The mortgagor, Dorothy STEVENS, has since defaulted on the debt and the property was accordingly put up for sale. Edward Miles is acting only as a trustee for Lawrence Elgar and plays little real part. | |||||||||||
