The Rev Joseph HIGGINS of Eastnor, Herefordshire. James GREGG of Ledbury Herefordshire. Builder. William MAYOS of Swinmore, Parish of Bosbury, Herefordshire. Farmer. Samuel HIGGINS of Berrow, Worcestershire. Gentleman. William HIGGINS of Bosbury, Herefordshire. Labourer. John SLADE of Ledbury, Herefordshire. Builder. The Rev John LODGE of Bosbury, Herefordshire. Richard WILLIAMS (deceased) of Catley, Parish of Bosbury, Farmer. SUBJECT The document begins by reciting that in 1812 Richard Williams mortgaged property in Bosbury to Joseph and Samuel Higgins for £700. The loan was increased to £1000 in 1815. Richard Williams has since died having appointed James Gregg and William Mayos as his trustees and executors. The two trustees are now selling a small portion of the mortgaged property to William Higgins for £80. This is done with the consent of the two mortgage holders with the debt of £1000 still outstanding. The piece of land being sold is at Catley, Bosbury, and is known as Suffield or Sheffield Orchard on the East side of the road from Ledbury to Bromyard, containing 2 roods, 6 perches. William Higgins already owns other adjoining land. John Lodge appears in the contract as the holder of earlier deeds relating to this property and undertakes to produce them on request. John Slade appears only as some sort of trustee who plays little real part. | ||||||||||||
