PARTIES
William PITT of Bosbury, Herefordshire. Yeoman. James HOLBROOK of Ledbury, Herefordshire. Gentleman. Charles HOLBROOK of Bosbury, Herefordshire. Lieutenant RN SUBJECT The Indenture relates to a parcel of land of 1 acre in a common field known as either Catley Suffield or South Hill Field. It is bounded on the West by the Turnpike Road. The document begins by reciting that William Pitt mortgaged the property to James Holbrook in 1820 for £60. Since then William Pitt has repaid £20 reducing the debt to £40. Now James Holbrook is buying the property from William Pitt for £45 of which only £5 is actually paid with the balance used to settle the mortgage. Charles Holbrook acts as some sort of Trustee, specifically to bar any right to dower, but plays little real part. | |||||||||||||||
