William JOYCE of Chew Magna, Somerset. Farmer. Anna Wace JOYCE the wife of William JOYCE Thomas Barker FOX of Devizes, Wiltshire. Gentleman. James Bailey JOYCE (deceased) of Beckington, Somerset. Gentleman. SUBJECT The document begins by reciting the Will of James Bailey Joyce who died in 1873. He appointed his brother in law Ebenezer Gough (husband of his sister Ann) as executor and trustee to sell all his property for the benefit of his son Alexander Joyce and daughter Anna Wace Joyce. William and Anna Joyce have already borrowed £650 from Ebenezer Gough as an advance on her inheritance and they are now borrowing a further £00 from Thomas Fox by mortgaging the residue of the inheritance. (There is no mention of any specific property owned by James Bailey Joyce. We are told that the father of James Joyce was John Joyce, also of Beckington). | |||||||||||||
