Mary Radcliffe of Stag Lane, Oldham, Lancashire, Widow James Walker of Manchester, Lancashire, Merchant The Rev. Richard Hopwood of Oldham, Lancashire. Edmund Radcliffe (deceased) of Stag Lane, Oldham, Lancashire, Gentleman Nicholas John Lyon of Oldham, Lancashire, Esquire. SUBJECT The document begins by reciting an Indenture of 1738 in which Nicholas Lyon mortgaged property to Edmund Radcliffe for £150. The property consisted of "All and every the Messuages Tenements Cottages Dwelling houses Lands of him the said Nicholas Lyon within the Territorys and Townships of Oldham Ryton Crompton and Chadderton within the parish of Oldham". Edmund Radcliffe died in 1745 appointing Mary his wife and James Walker as executors. The mortrgage is now being transferred to Richard Hopwood with the amount outstanding increased to £162 and 7 shillings. | ||||||||||||
