PARTIES
Daniel GOODWIN of Edenbridge, Kent. Builder. Joseph STANFORD of Haxted, in the Parish of Lingfield, Surrey. Miller. Granville William Gresham Leveson GOWER of Titsey Place, Surrey. Esquire. Nicholas WITHERS (deceased) of Edenbridge, Kent. Shopkeeper and Tailor. SUBJECT The document begins by reciting that Nicholas Withers died in July 1867 having appointed Daniel Goodwin and Joseph Stanford as Trustees with instruction to sell his property (but we are not told what they are to do with the proceeds). Accordingly, a public auction was held and Lot 3 (to which this Indenture relates) was bought by Granville Gower for £590. It consists of a messuage in Lympsfield, Surrey, on the North East side of the highway leading from Cockham Hill to Botley Hill. There are two small plots of land included, one of which is called Well Yard. We are told that the property is currently in the occupation of a Joseph Withers. | ||||||||||||||
