PARTIES
Elizabeth Mills Wilkie of Preston Lancashire. Spinster James Wilkie (deceased) of Preston Lancashire. Contractor of public works Edward Garlick of Preston Lancashire. Civil Engineer SUBJECT The document begins by reciting that James Wilkie died in 1858 leaving a will in which Edward Garlick was appointed as Trustee. His property (with buildings under construction in Blackpool particularly mentioned) was to be sold and divided among his grandchildren. James Wilkie had four surviving children - Robert, Daniel, James and Eliza Mills Baron. We are told that the son James then had 5 surviving children - Isabella (now the wife of Richard Sedgwick), Elizabeth (party to this indenture), Ann Eliza, James and Henry. This indenture concerns only the granddaughter Elizabeth Mills Wilkie. She acknowledges the receipt of her share which comes to £165/9/9d and releases Edward Garlick from any further obligation to her. | ||||||||||||
