George DUXBURY of Padiham, Lancashire. Builder. Elizabeth DEAN of Padiham, Lancashire. Widow. The Padiham & District Permanent Benefit Building Society. SUBJECT The document begins by reciting that in June 1909 George Duxbury acquired a 999 year lease on a plot of land in Padiham, Lancashire. Then in August 1909 he mortgaged it for £1700 to the Padiham Building Society. By this time he had 15 houses either built or in the course of erection on the plot. In this Indenture he is now selling 4 of those houses to Elizabeth Dean for £700; of this sum £580 will be paid direct to the Building Society to reduce the mortgage. The 4 houses are numbers 5, 7, 9 and 11 Field Street, Padiham. A memorandum added at the foot records that 3 of these houses were again sold in 1920. | ||||||||||||
