William COOKE of Elmswell, Suffolk. Euphenia GIFFORD of Elmswell, Suffolk. Spinster. Robert ROPER of Rougham, Suffolk. Farmer. SUBJECT This is a record of the General Court Baron of the Manor of Elmswell, Suffolk, of which Euphenia Gifford is Lady of the Manor. It begins by reciting that William Cooke had been a copyhold tenant of the Manor and died in 1839. He left a Will in which Sarah his wife, William Marsh Bridges and Robert Roper were appointed Executors and Trustees. The Executors have been directed to sell all the freehold and copyhold property of William Cooke, and to facilitate this, Robert Roper is now being admitted to all his copyhold property. The copyhold property consists of several parcels which were acquired by William Cooke in 1805, and one other small piece which was allocated to him by an Enclosure Act of 1815. | ||||||||||
