PARTIES
Henry MARLOW of 43 Grafton Road, Kentish Town, Middlesex. Elizabeth STEVENS of 29 Fairfax Road, South Hampstead, Middlesex. Spinster. George PRESS of 30 Lordship Lane, East Dulwich, Kent. Painter and Decorator. Henry BATTEN of 24 Westhall Road, Camberwell, Surrey. Carpenter. SUBJECT The 1877 document is a settlement made before the intended marriage of Elizabeth Stevens and Henry Marlow. It tells us that Elizabeth Stevens has £315 of her own money and also owns the furniture and effects of 29 Fairfax Road. These are placed in the hands of George Press and Henry Batten as trustees. In the 1887 document, (at which time the couple are living at the Fairfax Road address), Elizabeth Marlow asks the trustees to realise the money and return it to her and to "return" the furniture to her. The two trustees are then released from any further responsibilities in relation to the Settlement. | |||||||||||
