SUBJECT
Charles Ford Webb is selling property in Worthing, Sussex, to Edmund Lephard for £400. The plot contains 2 roods and 8 perches and lies between Shelley Road and Winchester Road in Heene, Sussex.

We are told that this is part of a larger area owned by Charles Webb and which he mortgaged for £3,600 in 1883 to Edward William Henry Webb. In 1885 a further £400 was added to this mortgage. Edward Webb died in 1887 leaving this mortgage to his wife Ellen Webb.

In 1889 Ellen Webb transferred the mortgage then totalling £3,942 to William Verrall. Accordingly, the entire £400 of the selling price of this plot is being paid direct to William Verrall.

Three is a Schedule listing indentures relating to this plot from 1864 to 1889. The name of Charles Webb first appears in 1877.
