This contract arises out of the will of James Harper Bowdler who died in 1903 leaving a widow, Elizabeth Bowdler, and 5 children. The children were Ernest, Thomas and James (parties to this indenture) and also Audley (died 1904) and Minnie Jane (died 1913). Elizabeth, his widow, died in 1916 and the three surviving sons are now sorting things out between them.
