SUBJECT
The indenture concerns No. 28 Golfe Road, Ilford, Essex, which is being conveyed to Sidney Searle and William Symes Cuff. It is being sold by Sydney Searle, Frederick Box, Mabel Box and Walter Maskell in various capacities.

The contract is long and tortuous because the ownership has become divided into 3 equal shares. It also contains a schedule of covenants placed on the land, apparently before any house was built on it.

The document has a total of 12 'whereas' clauses beginning in 1899 which explain how ownership came to be divided into 3 parts. We are told that Mabel Box is the widow of William Williams Box and that Sydney Searle is the son of Samuel Warren Searle and Eliza Ann Searle, all of whom appear in the recitals of earlier events. Walter Maskell comes into it as a friend, trustee and executor of William Williams Box.
