PARTIES
TESTATOR John KETCHLEE the elder of Old Romney in Kent. Grazier (d) BENEFICIARIES Mary KETCHLEE wife of John Hannah, daughter of John, and the wife of Edroin MASEY Elizabeth, daughter of John, and the wife of George SWAFFER TRUSTEES / EXECUTORS William BURGESS (friend) of Brenzett in Kent - Farmer Peter BURGESS (friend) of Brenzett in Kent - Farmer SUBJECT John Ketchlee tells us that he has a 21 year lease on a farm in the Parishes of Old Romney and Midley, Kent; the lease having commenced in 1833. He directs his two Executors to continue his business up until the end of the lease, giving an annuity of £40 to his wife out of the proceeds. At the end of the lease, all the stock and other effects of the business are to be sold and invested. Part of the income is to be given to his wife for life, and the remainder divided between his two daughters Hannah and Elizabeth. The original Will was written in August 1841. In October 1842 he wrote a codicil in which he added his wife to the other two Executers (ie Peter and William Burgess). | |||||||||||
