Testator
John Tolherst of Appledore, Kent. Grazier. Beneficiaries Jane Tolherst (wife) William Tolherst (son) Elizabeth Tolherst (daughter) Susanna Tolherst (daughter) Witness Thomas Timson of Appledore, Kent, Cordwainer (amongst others) Subject John Tolherst leaves his property to his wife Jane during her lifetime and then to his son William with minor provisions for his 2 daughters. His property consists of a house with 2 dwellings and a piece of land called the Horse Shot Spot(?) all adjoining Appledore Heath. He also has £200 in Rye Bank. There is an interesting note by Thomas Timson, one of the witnesses to the will. It seems that the will contains a number of alterations and additions, but Thomas Timson confirms that these alternatives were already present at the time that the will was signed and witnessed. | |||||||||||
