Parties
John Greene of Fareham, Hampshire. Tanner William Greene of Bromwith (?), parish of Titchfield, Hampshire. Esquire James Stares of Newland, Parish of Titchfield, Hampshire, Yeoman Elizabeth Greene of Fareham, Hampshire. Widow William Humphrys of Broadwater, Sussex. Malster. Subject The first 4 people named above are selling a malthouse and land called Troyes or Braziers in Broadwater, Sussex to William Humphrys for £310. We are told that the property comes from the will of Paul Greene of Fareham, Hants, who left it to his sons John and William (named in this contract) and also Paul (deceased). Elizabeth Greene is the widow of Paul Greene (the elder) who was appointed as one of his executors. James Stares comes in to it as one of the Trustees of Paul Greene (the younger). We are told of an interesting complication which is that the debts of Paul Greene (the elder) are likely to exceed his assets by more than £5000. | ||||||||||||
