Charles Joseph Bishop of Saint Helens, Lancashire, Glass Manufacturer. Emily Ellen Bishop of Saint Helens, Lancashire, Spinster. Subject The preamble to the document begins with Charles Bishop of Saint Helens, Flint-Glass Manufacturer, who died 1871. His property was left to Ellen Bishop his wife, Samuel Bishop his brother, and Robert Paterson his brother-in-law, the latter two being trustees. Charles Bishop left 4 children: Samuel Richardson Bishop, Charles Joseph Bishop, Emily Ellen Bishop, and May Elizabeth Bishop. Of these, Samuel died in 1881 with no issue, and Mary (then Mary Nicholson), died in 1884 with no issue. By the time of this indenture, Charles Joseph Bishop is the sole surviving trustee of his father's will and he is now appointing Emily Ellen Bishop as an additional trustee. The legacy involved then amounts to £4,000 in financial assets only (ie no real estate) of which details are given in a schedule to the indenture. | ||||||||||||
