Ernest Arthur BARKBY of Sheffield, Yorkshire. (Mechanical Engineer).
Sydney SMITH of Holmes House, Carlton, Near Worksop, Nottinghamshire. (Farmer).
Joseph Barkby is mortgaging property at Low Wincobank in the Parish of Ecclesfield to Sydney Smith for £138.
The property consists of two plots on either side of a new road called Stanley Road, and bounded on the North by Station Road.
The plot on the West of Stanley Road contains 4 dwellinghouses and was acquired by Joseph Barkby in 1887. The plot on the East of Stanley Road was acquired by him in July 1898.
The second indenture of 1902 added on the back (between the same 3 parties) tells us that Joseph Barkby also borrowed further money from Ernest Barkby on 31st December 1898, but that both loans have now been repaid and the property has been restored to Joseph Barkby.
