Edward WELBERRY of Frieston, Lincolnshire. Farmer.
John BUFFHAM of Frieston, Lincolnshire. Farmer.
John Boyes Blakey and Mary his wife are mortgaging property in Boston to Edward Welberry and John Buffham for £100. The property consists of a messuage on a plot of 268 square yards on the West side of Pen Street.
The preamble mentions an earlier mortgage on the property made in 1852 to Mary Bowles (see our document reference 0903018). We are told that Mary Bowles has since died leaving her estate to her son William Pepper Bowles. The latter also died leaving his estate to his nephew Arthur Green, who in turn left it to John Ward as his Executor and trustee. The earlier mortgage was paid off in 1869 but for some reason John Ward is also a party to this deed ensuring that any remaining rights are also conveyed to the new mortgage holders.
