|Summary of contents:|
Gabriel John FIELDING of Richmond, Yorkshire. Gentleman.
Ann LUPTON of Boston Spa, Bramham Yorkshire. Spinster.
Francis LUPTON of Boston Spa, Bramham, Yorkshire. Gardener.
John Addinell BROMET of Tadcaster, Yorkshire. Gentleman.
This document is in the form of a bond for £2,000 payable by Gabriel Fielding to the other three parties.
However, it is really a settlement prior to the marriage of Gabriel Fielding to Ann Lupton. Gabriel Fielding undertakes that, after his death, his heirs or executors will pay an annuity of £70 per annum to Ann Lupton for the rest of her life. This bond for £2,000 is only a penalty sum to be paid if the annuity should not be kept up.
It appears that John Bromet is probably a Tadcaster Solicitor, since the two witnesses are 'Clerks to Mr Bromet, Solicitor, Tadcaster'.
