Thomas AMOS of Winterbourne, Gloucestershire. Felt Maker.
John OSBORNE of Bristol, Gloucestershire. Sadler.
The document relates to property on Winterbourne Down, on the North side of the Green Dragon, which is owned by Thomas Amos. The property consisted of two dwelling houses with outhouses and stables, which had been built by Thomas Amos. More recently one of the stables had also been converted by him into a third dwelling house which is in Dragon Lane.
In February 1810, he mortgaged the property to Ann Osborne for £100, and then in May 1810, to George Martin for a further £50. These two mortgages are now being transferred to Thomas Nutt, but the third (new) dwelling in dragon Lane is being placed in the hands of John Osborne as trustee.
As a result, Thomas Nutt will hold the deeds to the whole of the property and convenants to produce them on request. A schedule lists eight such deeds from 1779 to 1810. It appears that Thomas Amos acquired the property in 1793.
