The document begins by reciting the will of John Quail who died in 1889 having appointed John Neen as Executor and Trustee, and instructing him to sell any real estate.
Accordingly, John Neen is now selling property at Fothergill in the Parish of Flimby, Cumberland, to Mary Macallam for £110. It consists of a plot of land of 566 square yards fronting the public highway between Flimby and Maryport, with 6 dwellinghouses on it known as Qualls Cottages.
