|PARTIES (to the main indenture)
Henry Horn ALMACK of Melford, Suffolk (Commissioner for Income Tax)
John George Weller POLEY of Boxted Hall, Suffolk (Commissioner for Income Tax)
Thomas Nunn SCARFE of The Brooks, Bildeston, Suffolk.
Samuel Knill BULL of Nayland, Suffolk. (Shoemaker)
The document begins by reciting that in 1891 Samuel Bull mortgaged property in the parishes of Nedging and Bildeston, Suffolk, for £80. The Mortgagee was the "Star of Humanity" Lodge of the Independent Order of Oddfellows.
Then in 1896 he was appointed to be a Commissioner of Income Tax and various other taxes for a number of Suffolk parishes.
In 1897 (for reasons which aren't at all clear) two other Commissioners, Henry Almack and Weller Poley, put this property up for sale by auction at the Crown Hotel in Bildeston. Part of the property (that in the parish of Nedging) was sold to Thomas Scarfe for £35 and is being conveyed to him in this document.
In the second Indenture of July 1897, Thomas Scarfe is repaying the mortgage to the Independent Order of Oddfellows.,
