|Summary of contents:|
William ELLIS of Little Barningham, Norfolk. Farmer.
Richard PLUMBLY of Sidestrand, Norfolk. Miller.
William FORSTER of North Walsham, Norfolk.
The document relates to property consisting of (1) a dwellinghouse with 3 acres of land in Sidestrand adjoining the King's Highway to the South and West, and (2) 3 enclosures totalling 11 acres in Northrepps. We are told that this property had been bought by Richard Plumbly in November 1813.
It has since been discovered that the property had been mortgaged to a William Ellis of Felbrigg, Norfolk, in 1871. Although the mortgage had been paid off in 1882, the title to the property had not been restored to the owner. This is now being rectified. William Ellis (party to this Indenture), who is the son of Samuel Ellis of Little Barningham, and grandson of the mortgagee, William Ellis, is here surrendering his interest in the property for the nominal sum of 10 shillings.
William Forster is acting only as a trustee for Richard Plumbly and plays little real part.
