SUBJECT The Indenture relates to property containing about 6 houses in St Faith's Lane, Parish of St Peter der Mountergate, Norwich. This property appears to have been in the hands of Edward Browne (the elder) since 1789 after whose death in 1827 it passed to Edward Browne the younger (party to this Indenture) around 1832 Edward Browne mortgaged it to Samuel Bignold for £6000. In 1837 £4000 of this mortgage was assigned to Edmond Wodehouse, Charles Onley, John Wright and Edward Martin. Edward Browne was declared bankrupt in September 1840. His property has been auctioned and part of it bought by Joseph Lane for £670. This Indenture is to effect the conveyance to Joseph Lane. Henry Miller, William Barth and John Hartt are only involved as Trustees in this or earlier transactions. Joseph Johnson is a purchaser of other neighbouring property of Edward Browne sold at the same auction. | ||||||||||||
