The document begins by reciting an Indenture of 1904 in which Elijah Cartwright mortgaged property in Middlesborough to Michael Guthrie for £120. Elijah Cartwright died intestate later that year leaving a widow Emma Cartwright and one child, Martha Wilkinson. Emma died in 1905 and administration of the estate of Elijah was granted to Martha Wilkinson.
In 1906 Martha and Sam Wilkinson mortgaged the same property to Albert Borrie for a further £25. It is now being sold to Peter Sanderson for £210 of which £135 is paid direct to Michael Guthrie and Albert Borrie to pay off the two mortgages.
The property consists of a plot of 80 square yards with a messuage and shop known as 18 Teak Street, Middlesborough.
