|Summary of contents:|
Caroline Isabel PIZEY of Paignton, Devon Spinster.
This is a case concerning the estate of Caroline Pizey, who died in 1894, which is being referred for the opinion of Counsel.
It relates to a house in Paignton called St Edmunds, on which Caroline's mother had bought a 99 year lease in 1849. The mother died in 1881 leaving the property to Caroline and four other sisters. In 1885 three of the sisters bought the freehold of the property.
Caroline Pizey's Will accordingly left a quarter share of the lease and one third share of the freehold to various relatives. This appears to have left many problems to sort out. The document includes the opinion of counsel.
