George VERNON of Hilderstone Hall in the parish of Stone, Staffordshire, Gentleman
Francis COBB of Lichfield, Staffordshire, Gentleman
John Barker SCOTT of Lichfield, Staffordshire, Banker
The Indenture relates to property in Stoke, parish of Stone, Staffordshire, which consists of a little more than 1 acre of land containing a dwellinghouse, brassworks and limekiln. Part of the plot borders on the Grand Trunk Canal.
We are told that in 1803, Richard Keys mortgaged this property to George Vernon for £3000. It appears that, at the same time, Joseph Jenkinson (of Stoke) and John Emery (of Stone) also entered into a bond with Richard Keys for the repayment of this sum.
George Vernon is now transferring this mortgage to Francis Cobb and John Barker Scott.
