PARTIES
The Mayor, Alderman and Burgesses of Abingdon, Berkshire Sir William DUNBAR. Baronet. Edward Hugesson Knatchbull HUGESSON Ann JACKSON of Abingdon, Berkshire. Widow. George JACKSON of Abingdon, Berkshire. Fellmonger (deceased) SUBJECT The document relates to a messuage with yard, garden, warehouse and workshop, on the North side of Ock Street, Abingdon. This had been occupied by George Jackson who left it in his Will to his widow, Ann Jackson. The Borough of Abingdon had given Ann Jackson a 21 years lease on the property in 1851 but now appears to be giving her the freehold. The transaction is under the Municipal Corporation Mortgages Act of 1860 and the purchase price of £164 has been in some way paid by the borough under this Act. Sir William Dunbar and Edward Knatchbull Hugesson are two Treasury Commissioners who approve the transaction. The document is signed by these two and by Bromley Challenor, the Mayor of Abingdon. | |||||||||||||
