PARTIES
Ann JONES of Walford, Herefordshire. Widow. Joseph EDWARDS of Ross, Herefordshire. Gentleman. Timothy JONES of Walford, Herefordshire. Labourer. James LITTLE of Walsall, Staffordshire. Gardner. SUBJECT The document concerns two cottages at or near Howl Green in the Parish of Walford which are being sold by Ann Jones to James Little for £30. The Indenture begins by reciting that in 1836 Thomas Jones (then the husband of Ann Jones - since deceased) mortgaged the property to Joseph Edwards for £12. With interest the sum owing has now risen to £12/15/-d. Accordingly, Jame Little is paying £17/15/-d to Ann Jones and the balance to Joseph Edwards to clear the mortgage. We are told that Timothy Jones is the eldest son and heir at law of Thomas and Ann Jones and that he is a party to the contract " for the more satisfactorily conveying the said cottages ............... to the said James Little ". | ||||||||||||
