|Summary of contents:|
John Corner of Barnard Castle, County Durham. Quarryman.
Ralph Robinson of Weather Hill near Wenston, County Durham. Farmer.
Joseph Watson Coulthard of Baldersdale, Yorkshire. Farmer.
John Corner is mortgaging property in Barnard Castle to Ralph Robinson and Joseph Coulthard for £500.
The property consists of three plots of land, each of about 130 square yards on the West side of a newly laid out road called Marshall Street. The three plots are all contiguous and three dwelling houses have recently been erected on them by John Corner. We are told that John Corner acquired the three plots separately in 1877 - 1878.
A memorandum added on the back says that £350 was repaid in 1887 and it appears that John Corner sold off two of the plots at that time. A second indenture of 1891 acknowledges that the balance of the mortgage has been paid off and reconveys the property to John Corner.
