|Summary of contents:|
John CLARK of Redmarley D'Abitot, Worcestershire. Yeoman, and SARAH his wife.
James GOODE of Redmarley D'Abitot, Worcestershire. Carpenter.
John SHAILE of Redmarley D'Abitot, Worcestershire. Farmer.
NB this is the second part of a contract of sale by Lease and Release.
We are told that John Clark has previously mortgaged property in Redmarley D'Abitot to James Goode for £100 and interest "which the said John Clark is totally unable to pay and being in want of more money to supply his necessary occasions". He is now selling the property to James Goode for £150 of which £100 will pay off the mortgage.
The property is all close to a messuage which remains in the ownership of John Clark and consists of:
1. Barn and foldyard
2. Parcel of 9 acres known as Windmill Hill bounded on the East by a highway leading from Ledbury to Gloucester
3. Another close of arable land known as Broomy Close
The property is conveyed to James Goode and John Shaile jointly in trust for the use of James Goode and we are told that this arrangement is "to prevent the wife of the said James Goode having or claiming any dower out of the said premises".
