|Summary of contents:|
Jonathan Massey of Ludlow, Shropshire. Gentleman.
Spencer Newcombe Meredith of Lincolns Inn, Middlesex. Gentleman.
John Stephens of Ludlow, Shropshire. Gentleman.
At first sight this appears to be the second part of a contract of sale by Lease and Release in which Spencer Meredith is "buying" property in Tenbury, Worcestershire, from Jonathan Massey. It is unusual in that:
1) No serious money changes hands, only a token sum of 10 shillings
2) We are told that before the end of the present Trinity Term John Stephens will sue Spencer Meredith with two writs of "Entry Sur Disseisin en Le Post". One will be for properties in Worcestershire and the other for property in Herefordshire.
It looks as though this is all a legal technicality to clarify the ownership of the property involved.
