Parchment : 4 sheets, 27cm x 22cm. Total of 10 wax seals and signatures plus Revenue stamps. A second indenture of 1885 has been added on the final sheet.

Eliza Isabel McCONNELL of Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire. Spinster. Thomas Joseph CARTWRIGHT of Warrington, Lancashire. Glass Manufacturer. John COUBROUGH of Glasgow, Scotland. Calico Printer. Charles James McCONNELL of The Woodlands, Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire, Gentleman. SUBJECT This is a Settlement prior to the marriage of Walter Cartwright and Eliza McConnell, of which Thomas Cartwright, John Coubrough and Charles McConnell are acting as the Trustees. Charles Henry Cartwright covenants that, after his death his executors will pay a sum to the Trustees for investment by them. This sum will be for the benefit of Eliza or any children of the marriage after the death of Walter Cartwright. The second indenture of 1885 tells us that Charles Henry Cartwright died in 1884, leaving a widow Catherine. The object of this second indenture is to release Thomas Joseph Cartwright from his duties as executor.
