|Summary of contents:|
Edmund REYNOLDS of Bath, Somerset. Esquire.
James BAILIE of the City of London. Merchant.
Francis WHEELER of Chippenham, Wiltshire. Gentleman.
William MAYLER of Bath, Somerset. Bookseller.
The Indenture concerns a plot of ground in Bath, 21ft x 59ft, formerly part of the Abbey Orchard, together with a dwelling house erected on it by Samuel Emes (?) the Royal Mason.
Edmund Reynolds and James Bailie are selling this property to Francis Wheeler and William Maylor for £1200. We are told that William Mayler is acting a trustee for Francis Wheeler in this matter.
The sale is by Lease and Release, of which this Indenture is the second part. We are told of a Lease for a Year having been given the previous day.
A history is given of how the property came into the hands of Edmund Reynolds - but it involves a second mortgage and a bankruptcy, and looks quite complicated.
