|Summary of contents:|
John Barrett of Farthinghoe, Northamptonshire. Grazier
John Bull of Stewkley, Buckinghamshire. Yeoman
The document begins by telling us that John Barrett had several pieces of land which he auctioned at the Kings Head Public House in Stewkley. A condition of the auction was that the purchaser of the second lot would hold certain title deeds which were also relevant to the third lot.
John Bull was the purchaser of the third lot, but it seems that lot 2 was not sold, and John Barrett is still the owner. Accordingly, he is entering into a covenant with John Bull to produce the relevant deeds as and when required.
A Schedule lists the deeds involved which cover the period 1732-1799 naming the parties to each Indenture. John Barrett (and his wife Mary) only appear in 1779.
