William Nicolls and his wife Sarah are agreeing to give John Broadhurst a 99 year lease on property in Winckle, Cheshire beginning 25/03/1743.

The property consists of a messuage together with lands called Long Dale or Long Sutton and is at a rent of 13 per annum.

John Broadhurst convenants 'not to carry off any hay, straw or manure but to lay the same upon lands for the improvement thereof'. He will also keep a dog for William Nicolls when required and 'grind his grist of corn at Broadhall Mill'.

We are told that John Broadhurst also has brothers Jonathan and Joseph.
