Summary of contents
Henry SYMONDS of the town of Ledbury in Herefordshire.
Jonas SYMONDS (deceased) of the parish of Pauntley, Gloucestershire, Gentleman
Hannah KEATING of the town of Ledbury in Herefordshire. Widow.
William MUTLOW of the town of Ledbury in Herefordshire. Gentleman.

Mortgage of property in High Street, Ledbury by Henry Symonds to Hannah Keating.

The document begins by reciting part of the will of Jonas Symonds, written in 1829. It refers to one son Alexander Symonds and to an illegitimate son William Symonds "otherwise Brookes". At the time of writing that will, Elizabeth Symonds (otherwise Brookes) is the widow of William and has 8 children : Elizabeth, Sarah, Edwin, Thomas, Henry, Ellen, Frederick and Mary. Henry is the one who is a party to this indenture.

There is an unusual note added on the back saying that "This indenture was produced and shown to John Vaughan Mutlow at the time of swearing his Affidavit this 23rd day of June 1859".
