We are told that Joseph Wright died in 1813 leaving a will in which he appointed Trustees to sell his property and distribute the proceeds to his wife and children. However, the beneficiaries want to keep the property and allocate 2/5ths to John Wright with 1/5th each to Barbara, Mary and Hannah. John Wright would pay money to Mary equal to a 1/5th share. Accordingly, they have had the property valued at 1,650.

The property consists of:

1. A freehold messuage called The Ivy Chimney House

2. A close of 3 acres called Pierce Lane Croft abutting on Hawcock(?) Lane

3. Another croft of 5 acres also called Pierce Lane Croft

4. A messuage on the Souith side of Hawcock Lane or Gaylors Lane

5. 3 fields totalling 7 acres nearby to 4.

6. Another close of 2 acres

All the property is in the Parishes of Thoydon Garnon and Thoydon Bois.

In this Indenture John Barnard and William Flack as Executors/Trustees of Joseph Wright convey the property to James Mumford as a Trustee to hold it for the use of the various beneficiaries in the agreed proportions.
