Subject
The document begins by reciting the will of John Evans (died 1863) who left property to 2 nephews, William and Cornelius Davies, who were also appointed as his executors. We are told that William Davies died in 1877 leaving his wife Mary and 5 daughters, Margaret, Mary, Anne, Elizabeth and Martha, who are all parties to this indenture. John Evans also left property to his niece Ann Foulkes.

The object of this indenture is to divide up the property between the beneficiaries, with some cash adjustments paid between them. All the property is in the parish of Dyserth, Flint and is clearly marked on the plan. Few details are given but it appears to include about half-a-dozen cottages.

(NB. Peter Evans only seems to get one mention in the document and his role is unclear - possibly a trustee of some sort. It happens that his name is also on the cover as the solicitor who prepared the document.)

There is a memorandum on the back recording an Indenture of 1898 in which Ann Foulkes' share of the property was sold by an Edward Foulkes of Quarry Farm, Oakenholt, Flint.
