|Summary of contents:|
William PLATT of Over Tean, Parish of Checkley, Staffordshire. Innholder.
Thomas BRANDON of Cheadle, Staffs. Gentleman.
John MELLOR of Summersall Herbert, Derbyshire. Farmer.
The two indentures are a Lease for a Year made on 10/7/1810 and a Mortgage on 11/7/1810, both made between the same 3 parties.
They concern property in Over-Tean, Checkley, Staffordshire known as Thomas's Orchard together with a dwelling house newly erected by William Platt. We are told that this property is held by Thomas Brandon in trust to the use of William Platt.
The object appears to be that William Platt is borrowing £600 from John Mellor on the security of this property. Unusually, the contingent conveyance to John Mellor appears to be by Lease and Release - hence the two indentures.
