|Summary of contents:|
Thomas BEACALL of Tunstall, Staffordshire. Builder.
George SMITH of Tunstall, Staffordshire. Gentleman.
The document begins by reciting an indenture of June 1858 in which Thomas Beacall mortgaged property in Tunstall for £100. Since then, Thomas Beacall has erected two more dwelling houses on the plot and is now borrowing a further £140 from George Smith, all on the same security.
The property lies on the North Side of a new street called Bank Street and contained 320 square yards. A Memorandum on the back tells us that, on the same day as this indenture, Thomas Beacall also sold a large part (206 square yards) of the original plot to a Henry Bourne.
