Henry Valentine Stafford Jerningham (Lord Stafford) of Costessey Hall, Norfolk, Baronet James Archer of Castletown, parish of Castle Church, Stafford, Staffordshire, Engine Driver Subject Lord Stafford gives a 99 year lease on property in Castletown, Stafford to James Archer at a rent of 12 shillings per annum. The property is bounded on the East by North Street and on the West by the Stafford and Uttoxeter Railway. James Archer undertakes to build "a good and substantial dwellinghouse of brick and tile or slate according to a plan already agreed upon". The preamble to the contract says that the lease is granted by "Lord Stafford in exercise of the power to grant building or improving leases given to him by an Order of the High Court of Chancery in 1858".
