PARTIES
Thomas FRANCIS of Moorhouse in the Parish of Lympsfield in the County of Surrey. Brandy Merchant. John WALLIS of Lympsfield, Surrey. Plumber and Glazier. William WELLS of Westerham, Kent. Cooper John FRANCIS late of Godstone, county of Surrey. Brandy Merchant. (Deceased) SUBJECT We are told that Thomas Francis is brother and heir of John Francis who died intestate. Thomas is now selling property in Lympsfield to John Wallis for £150. It consists of a messuage on the North East side of the Common Street from Cockham Hill to Botley hill, and includes an orchard and piece of ground callled the Well Yard. We are told that the property was acquired by John Francis in 1798 and that his widow Ann retains her rights to dower in it. This indenture is actually the second part of a contract of sale by lease and release. William Wells appears only as a trustee and plays no real part. | |||||||||||||
