Martha Elizabeth GARBETT of Accrington, Lancashire, Gentlewoman Charles WADDINGTON of Padiham, Lancashire, Gentleman SUBJECT The document begins by reciting an indenture of 1863 in which Haworth Waddington mortgages property in Hapton near Padiham, Lancashire, to Samuel Ryder, John Whittam and John Leeming for £150. Then in this indenture of 1866 the mortgage is being transferred to Martha Garbett and at the same time increased to £200. Finally, a further indenture of 1888 has been added on the back of this document which records that the mortgage has been again transferred to Charles Waddington. The property consists of a plot of 381 sq.yds on the West of the Old Highway Road from Padiham to Burnley. There is intended to be a new street on the South side of the plot."
